♥media tour and my own SBG walk... (Tuesday, May 27, 2008 / 4:36 pm)
Before I officially start this entry of the day, I shall announce some happy news.
1. My dear tutee, Hissam has managed to score 87 marks for English and 95 marks for Mathematics, a vast improvement from the 70 benchmark last year. (My efforts finally paid off!)
-This is definitely a booster for me especially after I received the disappointing news of another of my student who only scored 57 and 74 marks for the 2 subjects.
2. My storybook came in the top 3 in my NM department. (the good news actually came in last week)
I went off for a Vietnamese media buggy tour yesterday morning.
They were actually TV crew filming Singapore Botanic Gardens for their documentary.
And I sat in a buggy for the first time!!! It reminds me of how much I want to sit in this kind of 'vehicle' when I was young. This is especially so when we met a little china boy who kept ranting to his mother that he wanted to ride on it too.
-the buggy is the white vehicle in the background-

-never realise the significance of angsana tree till the Vietnamese media tour visit-

-at this very moment, go and take out ur $5 note!!! This is the very tree that our local artist drew on our notes!-

-the icon of SBG-

Today, I had my lunch at Taman, the food court in SBG as it was raining. It felt kinda lonely to be taking my meal alone without the fellow intern,JY, especially when all other department set off in groups and cliques. Some of my colleagues had brought their own lunch or went off in cars.
I had a quick meal and soon it was all sunny and bright again, so I decided to hike back to the HQ. On the way, I took some photographs so that I will not find the 15-20min walk draining or far...
-my starting point, the Taman Garden or the Tanglin Garden (not too sure what is it)

- the pavilion by the swan lake-

This is the first time I got so close to a swan. It was like only 1m away from me. Credits to those children visitors who kept attracting the swans over with their crackers. (though, I dun think they should feed them wif crackers and dirty the water...)

-my workplace-

anyway, the whole day was pretty busy as I was occupied with drafting the media release and have to prepare 12 dvds of pictures for the copywriter and especially the dvd writer was super uncooperative by being a slowcoach.
and there were so many docs to photocopy that I couldn't finish my work by the end of the day....
