♥continuance of Japan homestay (Sunday, December 28, 2008 / 10:16 pm)
Recently, I'm quite cooped up with a number of things.
Firstly, I had to clear all my recorded videos of Little Nyonya and all the back-logged stuff. I also immersed myself into reading novels that were bought over the last few months but din have to the time to finish them. And yes, I just finished reading Jodi Picoult's nineteen minutes.
With Yishun library relocated to within 5 mins walk from my home, I found myself borrowing books more on a frequent basis.
Today, I went to catch up some time with my family. We went to Jurong Point. It was revamped and wow, quite impressive with lots of new shops. My family went for a super delicious buffet meal at Gourmet Chinese buffet and ate many crabs!!!
And tml, I'm going for a kbox session. Yes...finally. :)
So back to Japan trip
Day 3: 10/12/2008
We headed far to this area known as Kure to visit their well-known Yamato museum. I din have much interest in visiting this museum as it was full of displays of battleships and warcrafts. I even dozed off during one of the video shows.
-on board JR train, on our way to kure, tt's Junyan beside us-
-Jenice and I playing with the astronaut display, wanted to be abit different by making these astronauts hold hands :)-
-typical vending machines found in Japan-
After visiting the museum, we headed to the nearby shopping centre for some quick shopping before our lunch. Jenice and I roamed around the area for a while. Meanwhile, the rest of the team went in search for a birthday cake for Jenice.
Lunch was at this expensive eatery for okonomiyaki. In the end, I was told by the team that they could not find any cake so we had to settle for some special arrangement at the eatery.
Then, I had to make sure that no matter where we sit for our okonomiyaki, Jenice had to be the last one to receive her share. So when we reached, I tried to keep Jenice occupied by making her take lots of photographs. Even the tour guide of the day reminded the staff to serve the okonomiyaki to Jenice last. Little did we know that the guide misunderstood me for the birthday girl by giving the food to Jenice first. *faint*
To clear up the mistake, the staff quickly removed the one in front of her. This really made Jenice feeling weird I guess. She kept asking me why did the staff take away her okonomiyaki and put in front of me instead. I quickly cooked up some reason that probably Zaf (a Malay girl who was sitting right in front of her was having her non-pork okonomiyaki), so Jenice can't cook her one with pork together with her.
-me trying to distract her while she kept eyeing others' okonomiyaki and waiting for hers to arrive. btw, she was quite hungry at tt time-
-her okonomiyaki with 'Happy Birthday' written on it-
