♥that's my life :) (Sunday, June 14, 2009 / 7:00 pm)
Woo...it's been eons since my last entry on the Mf-minds camp.
Pictures are really piling high up in my folder and Jenice was mentioning that my blog is becoming more inert that day while meeting up for jobhunting.
Well, this period of time is probably the most enjoyable break I have since the past 3 years. Having graduated recently, I'm regaining all the fun and meaningful activities/experiences in life (other than just studies, internship and part-time jobs and tuition) with no strings attached. I went for more gatherings with friends and family, badminton sessions, jobhuntings and camps and more.
And yep, life is coming back to me at the expense of a depleting bank account. :)
So to start off...here are the backlogged entries on Sentosa trip with my uni besties,
Wondergirls.
The weather was fantastic that day. Sunny enough for good photoshoots and occasionally breezy to keep us cool for the day. It was my first time going to Sentosa with my Wondergirls and I was glad that we finally had the time to spare after talking about going to Sentosa for the past Semester.
We headed to Siloso beach for picnic but the beach was still heavily under construction and we couldn't do much.
my favourite picture!it looks like some travel magazine cover! I love my camera!
I love this pic to the max!!!!!
My Wondergirls saw my cruise entries on jumping shots and they decided to try out too! It was super tough to coordinate and synchronise jumping shots for 4 people. Let alone taking perfect pictures of them, hence sometimes we looked pretty horrendous in the pictures. But the biggest problem is how our hair would fly all over. Only Jenice's hair remained more or less the same for all pictures. Skilful.
And ya, I saw one of the most amazing things for the day. There was this man with his brilliant dog (dunno whether is it a golden retriever or labrador). The dog was amazingly well-trained. It was a fantastic swimmer. The man was throwing this rubber ring into the sea and ordering his dog to swim into the sea and retrieve it back. And it wasn't some short distance. The rubber ring was like at least 5 metres away from the shore and the dog swam all the way back and fro to get it back. I was pretty engrossed in watching the dynamicism between that man and dog. It was just amazing.
This was kukumi's idea to renact taiwan's Meteor Garden's opening theme song video.
kukumi and fauz emulating the actions of the korean dolls found in many Korean souvenirs. a rare opportunity to see fauz acting cute.
the precious group photos...
in the evening, we headed to Lau Par Sa for dinner. Had another sinful dinner as we ordered satays, bbq stingrays, sotongs, hotplate tofu and spicy kangkong.
The stingray wasn't ready yet when I took the photo but everyone was too hungry to wait.
The scene after the meal...
To ride off the sinful meal, we decided to take a stroll along the Singapore River.
I love this pict but the kind man who offered to help us take din manage to capture a clear pic for us. :(
Lesson learnt: Always ask people to take 2 photos. lol
Anyway, Singapore has really beautiful landscape.
The Wondergirls got excited when they see these statues of pioneer traders along the river. The girls couldn't help fooling around these statues.
Fauz was soooo eager to sit in 'his' embrace.
And Jen had a thing for courtesy lions. We saw like 3 on the way and she took pictures with all of them.
I had an impromptu idea to climb up the wall to sit or stand so that we can have a good photo view of the fullerton scenery behind. Such a pity nat was nervous and wasn't too keen of the idea.
And now, the miscellaneous pictures. Yes, this entry is super long.

Today, I just got back from guides camp. This time, I see the camp more from an outsider perspective because for once, I am not bound with specific duties or positions but more of an advisory role. Due to some problems recounted from some of the ex-seniors in handling the juniors, I came to the camp with a more prepared mindset as ever. In terms of the strength of the present camp attendance and the change in juniors' nature and ideas towards guiding, the camp was nevertheless one with more challenges May, Andreas and I targeted to overcome by the end of camp.
Hence, I was pretty pleased that this time round, the 3 of us managed to adopt a different (softer, rational-based) approach but not losing the essence of imparting skills, discipline and guiding skills in the girls. Though, I am really not sure if these would sustain after the camp but I really hope somehow, it left an imprint and it meant something to them. Furthemore, I like the positive attitude among all the seniors in continuing to provide a memorable camp for those who bothered to attend and even though, we were somewhat disappointed at the turnout rate.
At the same time, I really enjoyed the dual interaction and learning process between the juniors and seniors whenever a camp organized. Camp is not only significant to juniors but seniors too. I think seniors should also reflect upon what has touched them or affected them when planning and facilitating this camp.
And this was where the seniors slept in. The room looked pretty inspiring with all the positive statements and words around.
As part of self-entertaining, (which we always do), Andreas came up with a lame idea of 'spot-the-difference' photo activity. Each photo we took must have something in common. Well, it was a silly game for people in twenties like us, but *shrug* that's fun... lol
What's the difference/similarities across the 3 pictures and within the people in the 3 pictures respectively?
*1. similar superstandard smiles*
*2. long hair*
*3. dorky look with spectacles*
-my cute facilitators, graduated juniors-
-it seems like May had blurted out some cranky ideas and opinions and Andreas was trying to hold back her urge to bash May up.
-2 people decided to live in their own world because common census and frequency weren't achieved. lol-
-dunno why Andreas looks like she's suntanning on the beach, lol-
-sisters forever-
-junior practising for Wee Kim Wee Challenge, peranakan food-

-I forgot to bring utensils so I had to use mass tin for my meals. Thanks to Peiwen for sharing her fork with me too... *muackz*
-the peranakan food...-
-the dinner which everyone had difficulty cooking because of the strong wind and limited solid fuel-
-may came back from bbq and brought some food back. The satays were wrapped with aluminium foil and it looked like some baton. Drama-mama Andreas and May thus decided to put up a short skit. 真是爱演的家伙
-unhealthy lifestyle, consuming food at wee hours of the morning, lol-
-alamak, I never see Adeline smile till so sweetly like that before!?!?!haha-

And I got to watch those clips of us conducting the night drill back in 05! Gosh, they were hilarious.
